The Cosmic Conspiracy

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
(Ephesians 6:10-12 ESV)

There are a lot of conspiracy theories floating around these days. Some are a bit far out - some of them are very real. While the kingdoms and earthly empires of the world will come and go - the eternal kingdom of God will never be destroyed. In this present evil age we are wrestling with dark powers in the heavenly realms. They have considerable control over the unbelieving world we live in.

The wrestling, the Apostle Paul is referring to in the scripture above,  is a close hand to hand type of combat. It is spiritual, but you see the effects of this fight in the natural world. It's a very real life and death struggle. Those who do not recognize this are living morally and spiritually defeated lives.This struggle is between two competing spiritual kingdoms - one seeks to control world events and to bring misery and deception to mankind - the other has done everything necessary to bring freedom to all who desire it. This freedom is found only in Jesus Christ. (John 3:16)

While the whole earth lies under the power or sway of the evil one, God the Father owns this planet! He has given the followers of Jesus, the mandate to peacefully subdue this world until his return. Cosmic evil powers are behind governments and ungodly leaders - but we are citizens of a heavenly kingdom. Our battle is fought in the spiritual realm - not with guns, tanks, or missiles, but with the proclamation of the gospel of peace and prayer. Remember God is aware of these conspiracies and sits in the heavens and laughs. - Bobby

Why do the nations rage
and the peoples plot in vain?
The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against the LORD and against his Anointed, saying,
“Let us burst their bonds apart
and cast away their cords from us.”
He who sits in the heavens laughs;
the Lord holds them in derision.
(Psalm 2:1-4 ESV)
